These are an individuals preference, back test can be very helpful, but you will also need to test on demo, to check what it would do on a live account.
I think Darwinex zero is a good way to start, but they are more of a long-term game. I'm planning to use them in the near future. If you can do well with them then you'll will be more likely to be able to trade for those other prop firms. I spoke with many of them and most of them allow using EAs. You need to ask them what type of trading they allow from EAs and if yours is okay. There are also a few prop firms out there that won't allow you to use an EA unless it was made by you. Maybe someday we will see an EA based prop firm.
