Finally succeeded!!!
-
Ahhhh, man it was a long journey,
No, let me rephrase it,.... it's been a very long journey,
and finally some success.
finished making a robot about 2 days ago and right now it's being tested on a demo account, it's showing some potential, 5.42 % return in just 2 days, (I know I have to keep testing it for a long time)
5.42%!! In 2 days! Well it's not much but atleast it's safe After hundreds and hundreds of making failed EAs, and thousands and thousands of hours of effort spent in trying to make a stable EA, but failing again and again countless times, and then thinking of giving up time after time, and then pushing myself to give it another shot, again and again an again and again.........
Man it feels good....
Well for those of you wo has already made a good EA I congratulate them and I can proudly say that I know the feeling now
,
and those of you who are reading this post, and haven't came up with anything good, please don't give up, because you don't know when the moment will come, when something just clicks in mind and you will start to see things clearly.
well, you just have to keep trying till that moment comes, and once that moment come you will know that it was all worth it.
If I can do it then you can do it too.
And last but not least, Thank you fxdreema providing for such an amazing and brilliant platform, it wouldn't have been possible without you.
Thanks
Kind regards -
@sami92
Congratulations buddy!
I'd really like to see your backtest report but also respect your decision not to share it, of course. -
Congrats! And yes, share your backtests please.
-
Yeah sure,
I'll share the backtest in the next couple of days , just doing a little bit of fine tuning, to make it stable, -
hehe someone wanted to do some bragging

run a min of 12 months backtest, then if it still looks great, uses the backtest on random grouping backtest -
Those of you who asked for the backtest, here is the 5 days real time myfxbook results on real account:
http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Prestige9/stn/3237159
And sorry for the late update, I was planning on updating this thread sooner but when I started doing the final fine tuning another great idea occurred to me (please don't mind me bragging) so I had to make some fundamental changings, and performance improved from 5% to 70%, but now the system is not fully automated, now its semi automated well its better this way, I guess.
now it's only about 85%automated, and the rest 15% of the times it need human intervention which gave it a whole new scope,In myfxbook portfolio you can see that the system is only tested for 5 days on real account and it made 70 % profit
There was a bit of a drawdown as you might see in the myfxbook portfolio, to be hones I was expecting maximum of 10 to 15 % drawdown but the drawdown was 25 %, still acceptable and its nothing that can't be fixed because the lot size was 0.20 on 2000USD account which is a bit aggressive, so the draw down will be taken care of soon
And as for the overall performance, we'll I am satisfied -

) but I guess after so long Its just fair to enjoy this moment a bit

The reason I am not going for the backtest is because, I never really believed in backtest, I don't know why but it doesn't seems like a good idea to make or test something depending on previous market movements, I don't know why
I wanted to make something that can sustain good performance even during sudden market crashes, (for example like when all the signs including previous data, are stating that the market will go up and suddenly against all signs, big players decides to throw market in opposite direction,)
You might not agree with me, but I believe that big players control the market, so I wanted to make something that can handle those big player's sudden urge of throwing market in other direction, so now even if those big guys turn the market or whatever they do or even the news ,
No matter what it will always be in my favor, (by always I mean 95 to 97% of the time

) -
Let's hope for the best

@sami92 Thank you for the reply! I hate to say this, but the statistics are very alarming: 33 trades and already 25% drawdown. Think about it, how likely it is that a 90% drawdown happens before your 100th trade? A 10% probability? 15% probability? How much risk are you willing to take?

I absolutely agree with you about that, but, it can be taken care of by using a small lot size, 0.20 is relatively big size for account so small, it's madness if you ask me
I'll get the lot size figured out, soon enough.
I was actually thinking about % of equity or % of balance as a lot size, but that didn't fit well enough with the equations I used in the system, no worries the difficult part is already over, I just need to amend the equations to sit well with % of balance or equity -
Well I hate mathematics and only I know how much I despise maths and Those equations.
But it turns out I had to turn back to studying mathematics to create some equations that might help, and believe me when I say that it's driving me insane just thinking about amending those equations that I so desperately created.

Good job! The DD to Return is fantastic, so a 12% dd on a .10 lot is very safe. Duration is very good, so short term exposure is good.
If I can ask, is this a technical indicator based? Multiple time frame?
-
@line yup 12.5% drawdown ain't that bad when the lot size is set to 0.10 thanks for your positive feedback.
Its not completely based on the indicators or multiple time frames, but I did use one indicator (36 period SMA)
The moving average only makes about 2 % of the overall system, it's only their for the reference
I mostly used equations about 15 of em, and these equations process the current market price in comparison with daily high and low and pass the result to a controlling block so it won't be wrong to say it's completely based on those equations that process the price -
UPDATE:
I am gonna change few things (equations) to minimize the drawdown as much as I can, so I am gonna stop the live trading test (test That I am currently running on live account that I have mentioned in previous post), and during the modification period I am gonna run the test on demo account, and I will post the myfxbook portfolio link for that account once I set it up.
It could take a little bit time because I have to keep the balance between my university study, my job, other responsibilities and Trading related stuff.
Will update this thread as soon as possible. -
Please note:
I am not here to sell anything, and the expert advisor that I made is strictly for my personal use, I will not sell the expert advisor or any services related to it,
Someone just pointed out that " I might be trying to get people to contact me so I can scam them " well that really hurt my feelings
I won't be replying to anybody in personal messages, so never contact me in messages, if you need to know anything about my approach of creating expert advisors just post in this thread, in front of everyone. -
i BT 8 years before i am confident to use it myself... and more so on those ranging years...
-
@sami92 if you want to share, PM me Thx
-
@sami92 Hi, it's been 4 years, how's your EA doing? Regards.
-
25% drawdown on the 2nd day of trading, I think that tells all.
Anyway mad respect for disclosing the live performance.
