VOLUME / LOT SIZE PROBLEM
-
hey guys today i finished my first trading expert everything was running smoothly untill i wanted to change the lot size of trades.
the default lot size in the buy / sell blocks was 0.1 and i checked the box next to it so i can modify it from the mt4 platform but when i modified it the lot size dosn't go under the 0.1 it only goes up even so if i set it to 0.01 the pip should be at 10 cents but at the backtesting the pips is still at 1 dollar then i went back and changed the volume from the sell / buy blocks to 0.01 and the pip is still at 1 dollar.
how can i solve this issue so i can use my experts on small accounts.my broker is a 6 digit broker.

Hi! Possibly it is because of the EA configuration, you should hang the EA to verify it, another possibility is the PAR you use and the limitations of your Brocker, think that the DAX30 and the SP500 the minimum lot is 0.1 instead the EURUSD is 0.01 In my Brocker but in other Brockers that I use for Backtesting, the DAX30 is 0.5 and EURUSD 0.02 or 0.05, this causes you that even if you put 0.0001 you always get the mimino allowed by the Brocker, MT4 is a platform that each Brocker configures it to their interests, XM for example is one of the most expensive but they camouflage it with very low volumes but the operations are limited to minimum pips and where you want only 10 pips they increase it to 30 or 60. Sorry about my English, it's not my strength.

check the "global options" tab at the top of your FXDreema Builder screen.

thanks guys problem solved it had nothing to do with the options i tried it on another broker backtesting system and it worked

@axmed69 The broker just used a different lot it sounds like. Something that could be easily fixed if you like the older broker, by using the global settings.

the dax30 and the sp500 are pairs but "indexes", naturally they have minilots of 0.01 but they have it camouflaged by having operations with a minimum of pipis to operate in the STOP LOSS, where other Brockers have no limitation, they apply a minimum of 30 , 40 or 60 pips + SPREAD, so if the trend falls you lose if or if those 30, 40, or 60 pips (for them points) and it is a lot of risk that you do not control.
