Custom indicator supertrend

Hi, newb question. Im trying to use a custom indicator (supertrend) buy when buffer 1 crosses above buffer 2 and sell vice verca. I have made sure that the indicator is in my mt4 indicator folder, but no trades are opened. I get no error messages in the journal tab either. Have you tried closing/re-opening MT4 completely? Sometimes mine weirdly glitches out particularly when swapping between time frames or when making edits then re-running again, only for it all to work perfectly again when re-opening MT4.

@piptheripper Are you sure there is a cross in supertrend indicator, normally there's only one line see here: https://fxdreema.com/forum/topic/12268/supertrend-indicator-for-ea/15

@miki Please do not use the super trand indicator. It repaints! Your backtests will never be reliable if you use it.

@l-andorrà thanks, I do not use this indicator and I think I will never use it, I just give some advice to those who want to use it

Thank you for your inputs guys! Really really appreciate it. This indicator repaints only on open candles. At least that is my experience. Once a bar has closed the value for the supertrend is fixed for that candle.

@piptheripper Are you sure? Mine repaints up to the 5th closed candle!!!

Usually a too good to be true indicators are always not what it seems.

@biztet Id say that goes for all of them. Any time you think an indicator has worth, put it to the test and only use that indi to go long or short for whatever the conditions say. If it isn't at least 50% effective, its poo. I think youd be hard pressed to find 1 that is better than 50%.
