Copy and Paste EA Code Building Blocks
-
I think this would be extremely useful and really boost productivity and ease-of-use.
It would be great if I could select a block, right-click and have the option to "Copy", and then right-click on the EA canvas and have the option to "Paste".... as an example.
Or
Implementing "copy & paste" as buttons under the "libraries and candlestick patterns" on the left side of the EA canvas.
Thanks

This is something that exists. Well, I have to describe it into the documentation
You know that right click on block opens it's parameters window... try to right click when a block or group of blocks are selected (yellow glowing). -
Yep. Thanks great, I got it. I'm able to copy the block.
What and/or where do I have to click to paste it.

I tried using FireFox edit menu, but paste is dimmed. -
Select one or more blocks with a mouse
Right click over one of them, choose Copy or Cut
Then go and right click at the empty space aroud - you should see Paste menuIf you left click somewhere and deselect blocks - Paste menu will not be available.
Still not working?
-
Yep. I got it. It's working.
My mistake was as you said, I left-clicked on the canvas first, which caused the block I was copying to unselect or not be yellow anymore.
Thanks...

Hi fxdreema,
I'm experiencing problem with this. it was working before, is there a restriction for limited accounts? Actually I'm experiencing other issues also, such as weird behaviour while connecting blocks, block connections missing in the exports, cannot delete projects, imported files stays as unreadable projects, cannot save differences etc. I tried different browsers, different computer etc. even tried from vps with registering another account to see if it's because of account mess-up (username edzachery, if you'd like to delete :)) but I couldn't get what I got three days ago..
-
Nothing about account types. I just updated the generator to be faster, but there are problems obviously

-
Thanks for information, good to know there is a reason

Not sure but I just thought maybe it can be helpful to report my last experience :). Now I can delete/rename projects, and changes can be saved. Copy/paste, detach, delete (we can say rightclick menu) don't work. And manually detaching connection isn't possible with mouse. Connection can be detached only by double-click and approval and it effects other connections when you use that way. You can move a random bunch of them with only taking one of them with mouse as in the attached screenshot..
Waiting with patience..

I didn't noticed that detaching all connections does not work... fixed that, at least for me.
It's interesting that the other things works for me on Firefox, Chrome, Opera and... not very well on IE, but this is normal for IE. When I worked on projects today I had some weird connections behaviousr like this on the picture (unfortunately I was not able to understand what caused it) but after reload it was gone (and I could not to replicate it again).
What browser is this one that you use?
-
oh sorry, since that was the same with my windows vps on saturday, i didn't check on windows yesterday. The screenshot was from Firefox on mac.
I just checked and the behaviour on the screenshot. it has no effect while working and it's only latest firefox and not safari. I just realized it while trying to detach a block with mouse. So in Safari and Firefox on mac, right-click menu (copy, pasete, delete, detach etc) doesn't work. it was working on both firefox and safari on mac 3 days ago).
Now i tried from my windows vps and only "detaching with mouse" doesn't work. Others are ok..
Sorry for missing information..
Thanks

Well, 3 days ago nothing was updated, and this update was mostly javascript update with the idea to make fxDreema as lightweight as possible, but for that I decided to try some tricks and for some reason this does not work on some browsers. I just found that there are problems in Windows Safari, for example when I right-click the menu shows, but when I release the mouse it disappears. I don't have Mac but at least I can work on this Safari.

I expect you know this already, but just in case...
In the local version (v70, and earlier), I can open two instances of fxDreema, with two different EAs, say, A and B. I can then copy single or multiple blocks from A to B and vice-versa happily. Then, after some time and/or some editing, find that I can no longer do this. If I then close both instances, and re-open, I can then do the block copying again.
A very small thing, but sometimes annoying!
