Is there a way to start the EA with a specific template active at startup?

In the past, I have had to pause the EA and assign a template. What is interesting is that today (running the local version) a chart template automatically starts. It is definitely not the setup from the EA because various lines have different colors and thicknesses. In fact, now when I stop the EA, what usually happens is that ALL of the indicators used in the EA appear in the chart, even if I had an active template with the same indicators running. Hmmmm... Now that does seem to happen.

      Thanks,

      Dwight

This appears to be the function to do that. It does not exist in a block, but I can add it

It's added already, search for "Apply Template" 🙂

Thank you! FXDreema is an ABSOLUTELY fabulous product. I cannot even imagine trying to explain to a classic programmer (which I am) the nuances of the strategy that I can build with your delightful tool!

I see it in the web version (running here) but the offline version I just downloaded does not seem to have it.

True, I first add things into the web version, which does not mean that they will appear into the local one. But I think I need to update it already, so I will push a new version later.

By the way, why do you prefer the local version?

Why do I prefer the local version... that is not so easy to answer. But, I like to have things running on my machine. I guess it just feels like an application that way. But, actually no "real" reason. Although I have not used the web version on any larger protocols so cannot report about performance.

I can tell you why I like the local version better... much faster trouble shooting EA's with the MT4 integration. I can have my tester version of MT4 open and just switch to fxdreema, make a change, export the mq4 and ex4 and try again. Way better than going into firefox, making changes in web version, downloading the mq4 and ex4, opening download folder, copying the files, opening the data folder for MT4, pasting the files, assuring Windows that yes I want the files there, and THEN I can go to MT4 and try again. 😉

Well, I made a plugin for Firefox and Chrome that opened access from the browser to the local filesystem and the whole procedure was basically the same as in the local version. I did it this way personally and I work on the local version only to check if things are working after I build it.
Because this plugin used an old technology called NPAPI, which was considered not too secure, they dumped it and now these plugins that I have created stopped working. But some days ago I wrote another plugin for Chrome that now uses 100% of the API provided by Chrome, here it is: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... mkdhjdgdkp
