      Hi there!

First off, I want to say you guys have a great service and have been pleasantly surprised how easy it is to make EAs!

I'm trying to make an EA that creates pending orders for hammers whether or not they are above or below the 21 EMA. Out of the one month I did backtesting on, I noticed that there was one hammer that the EA should have taken but it did not. I know you addressed this in another thread (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2108&p=3717&hilit=hammer#p3717) however it appears I do not have this issue.

I've attached the screenshot of the visual test (with the hammer in question highlighted). It just seems weird to me that it caught the other hammers no problem but this one it passed.

I'm not sure how to share the link to the file....

      Thanks for your help!

And how does your project look like? Give me something that I can check and see that it doesn't work as expected, and I will fix it.

Here's what I'm trying to do: Take all hammers long when they appear above the 21 EMA - this is the first condition. The second condition is that the candle low must be below the 5 EMA in order for a long trade to be taken - this is the second condition. The pending order is triggered at the break of candle 1 high. Anytime the trade is open and price falls below the low of candle 1, the pending order is deleted - and vice versa for short trades

As far as the take profit is concerned, I have it set for 200% of my stop loss, but it appears to be much less than that while backtesting. On a $10,000 account my stop loss is correctly placed around $100 but my take profits are around $130 (instead of $200)

Thanks again for this incredible service 😄

              Try this:

As far as the money management is concerned, I've included a part of the backtest results. As you can see, the losses are all around $100 (1% of account balance), but my take profit levels are all over the place (instead of $200) - any thoughts on this?

              Thanks!

If you measure SL and TP on the chart, is TP two times bigger? If this is true, then the lot size is calculated incorrectly. But the lot size also depends on the minimum lot step!

With smaller SL comes bigger lot and with bigger lot you have bigger amount of money per 1 pip. Each lot size is first calculated as exact value, something like 0.38765, but then depending on the lot step this value is rounded to the nearest possible.

Also when you make profits or losses, the Balance is changing and because of that 1% of it is also changing.

Unfortunately the take profit is not calculated correctly (at 200% of stop loss). I've included a picture of a visual backtest to show the discrepancy - in the first picture the risk/reward is around 1.56( 23.7 pips stop loss but only 37.2 take profit) instead of 2.00. In the second picture the risk/reward is around 3.6 (32 pips stop loss and 115 take profit) instead of 2.00.

I understand it's not going to be a perfect $100 loss and $200 take profit because the account changes, but as you can see in the account statement above the losses are all around $100, but the wins range from $154 to $272 (I'm hoping they are all around $200)

Is this a bug in the calculation of the take profit?

                  Thanks!

Ok, but when I make tests on my MetaTrader, everything looks 1:2. I have profit of $192 from one trade that is 1.2 lots, but even for this one SL:TP is 1:2. I don't know... what looks different in your pictures is that it is EURUSDpro, while I'm trying with EURUSD. What is the situation for other symbols? Or... what broker is this?
