MT4>>MT5
-
-
it was bound to happen. However, do these ea work on metatrader 5?
-
yes, with fxDreema you can do fast the same for MT5

-
so what about the brokers that support mt4, do you think they will also abandon the mt4 plateform and only stick to mt5?
-
that is question, how brokers made, I personally think/hope they make it with step by step (in few years) all into MT5, .... because MT4 will end with updates, and sooner or later "somebody" give out critical security error which can be ground to tell all MT4 brokers, now is time for MT5 because there will be no update for MT4

Oh no, I hate MT5 with passion

-
I belive, that fxdreama will goint for cTrader ;-), possible!

If I ever understand how to work with it

I just noticed this:

Is this really working? -
I also noticed that and I have tried it, but who know how acurate it is ... only way how to check accuracy is to create some EA which is working with candle 0 and is opening/closing enough trades, run it for 1 month (must not be profitable :D) and when is that done, try this period run with tester and compare results ...

Is this really working? As I can see... MT5 continues modelling the tick data, I have acurate backtests with MT4 & Tickstory, same strategy tested on MT5 shows ramdoness on the tick order.

Just curious. How can we choose to download our EAs for MT5? The builder shows mq4/ex4 extensions only...
-
when you are creating your project, (new project), select radio button to Metatrader 5
-
-
Just one more question. Can I import a MQ4 EA and then export it as a MQ5 EA in order to "translate" from one language to the other?
-
for now it is not supported, you need create project in MT5
-
Ok. Thank you.

@fxDreema It would be interesting to hear why you so passionately hate MT5.
I also used to do it, while it had all its limitations, like no hedging, one position only, few brokers had it, etc.
But now that the limitations are taken away, I also see a lot of attractive features with MT5, like
- Using all CPU cores for calculation and backtesting in 64-bit, can make it 500% faster.
- Partial order filling
- More Pending Order Types
- Built-in Economic Calendar (Programmable triggers for news events, I suppose. If Yes = Great.)
- Order Depth.
- Backtesting multi-currencie EAs at the same time etc. Multi-threaded. Multi-currency. Real ticks.
- Better reports.
- More Timeframes (finally).
- More markets, like stock exchanges.
- Native SQL Export.
- Distributed computing (multi server power) etc.
I haven't done anything with MT5 yet, but it's looking more and more attractive. And soon, it seems we are all forced to do the shift anyway - for the better.
I believe it would be very important for FXDreema to have a Converter or Export Function from MT4 to MT5, instead of having to remake every EA manually. Very needed. I imagine just added buttons to choose which version I want to download. [MQL4] [MQL5]
