    • RE: How to set close trade condition for moving average crossover

@ambrogio Hey man. Thank you for the response. I see that you filter the close trades to sells only that is linked to the "BUY Now" block which makes much more sense. BUT in the EA uploaded by admin it has it set for either buys or sells. I just want to understand why he says that will work.

    • RE: Making Profit from EAs

well EAs can be very profitable if you set it up correctly. The set up should be exactly the way you would have traded when doing it manually. It helps you not to miss the entries when you have to do other important things like sleeping. Apply the same conditions as you would have done it manually. It takes the emotional part out of trading which can be your worst enemy and allows you to follow your strategy. If the EA is not profitable and it was set up correctly then it is your strategy that needs work not the EA because it just does what it is told to do.

    • Indicator for EA to avoid sideways market

Hey guys. I hope that you guys are doing well. I know that here must be a few gurus and thought it is worth asking the question: I have created a moving average crossover EA that appears to be profitable about 50 percent of the time. On average I loose 5 trades in a row when the market is going sideways (ranging) and then I win about 4 trades that are profitable that makes up for the losses, atleast sometimes though. I was hoping that someone can tell me what indicator I can use to keep me from a sideways market that I can add to my EA. I know it is impossible to have a 100 percent win rate but I'm looking for atleast a 8 out of 10 wins over losses. I have tried ATR but it does not seem to work.

    • RE: How to add EA condition to take trade when moving average is fixed and not pull back

Hey thanks for your help. I have tested your solution in my demo and carefully observed what the EA does. However the problem I am experiencing with setting the candle ID =1 is that the current candle=0 also first has to close before the trade is taken which can cause me to lose many profitable pips. What I would like to have is that if candle =1 conditions are confirmed that the trade is taken the moment the candle=0 opens instead of waiting for candle=0 to close also. Do you perhaps have a solution to this?

    • RE: How to set close trade condition for moving average crossover

@ambrogio Thank you dude. I have tested it and forgot add candle ID 1 and my EA opened 12 trades at once almost blowing my account. So thanks for the heads up. Another quick question, I hope you can help me:

I would also like to know will I be able to set another condition to let the EA only take a trade once the candle has closed above ( in the case of a buy) above the slow moving average after the crossover has occurred. Because sometimes the moving average crosses over whilst the candle is still open, but if the candle closes the two EMAs no longer crosses each other and the price moves into the opposite direction. To be safe as a condition I would like to have the candle closed above the slow moving average ,and as a second condition to have the fast and slow EMA to cross. Could you please advise how do I go about doing this. Thank you.

@od Thanks for your help , I will test it in my demo. Quick question though... With the setting of " Once per bar" will the EA take another trade on the following candle? I only want it to take one trade once the crossover occurred.

    • How to add EA condition to take trade when moving average is fixed and not pull back

Hi guys. I have a moving average crossover trading EA and would like to know how do I set the EA to only take trades when the moving average crosses over and stays in it's position ( no pull back) usually after the current candle closes. The problem I am experiencing now with my EA is that the fast moving average touches the slow moving average and it opens a trade. Then as time passes the moving average pulls back and moves the other direction. It is as though the crossover never happened but I am still in the losing trade. I would like to have the EA only take trades after the current candle once the moving average is painted or fixed in it's position.
