Thanks for that.
In the Market field I've typed GBPUSD for a BUY & EURUSD for a SELL.
When I clicked the .ex5 to download, it gave some errors, such as semicolon is missing and double quotes are missing. So I then changed the fields to "GBPUSD"; & "EURUSD"; but it still generates those errors.
Is that the correct way to input the currency pairs manually?

This works really well manually in MT5. Even when the daily goes completly the wrong way you're saved on the M5 retracements.

I'm trying to put a sort of pair trade EA together where it should buy one currency pair and short another currency pair.
To specify a certain currency pair do you have to type the currency pair in the "Market" field under 'more settings' or can you choose from a drop down box somewhere ?

It loses the profit when going sideways (same old story). Will have to experiment with exit points as well.

Is there a way with fxDreema to work out the angle of the moving average because sometimes in a BUY position all the conditions can be TRUE and the moving averages can be pointing down?

I'm in the early stages of putting together a multiple moving average EA.
I've used an AND condition (for the 3 MA's) but it only places one trade at the beginning of the backtest and thats it for the duration.
The SELL side is the exact opposite but it never comes into play unless I delete the BUY side.
I've used a SL of 5 & TP of 20 but these don't even show on the chart.

Hi,
I was experimenting with just a simple moving average, but I've been watching it in the backtester for a while now and it may have been a false alarm. It definately did not close out a position when the MA's crossed. But this time I have only used 1 lot of hours (08:00-21:00). Strange! - probably the backtester in MT5.

Yes you're right. For Cross to be confirmed it would have to be the previous candle otherwise like you said it would just be a temporary Cross.
I will try with candle ID 1.

I've used the hour filter and specified to trade during the hours 8-9am and 2-4pm (GBP/USD) - Asia and NYSE over lapping times.
I'm using a moving avrage cross over to enter trades.
It does start trades in the specified times but when the moving average cross over signals a close position AND is outside of those hours it does nothing (which is good as its only doing what its been told).
Is there a way to tell it to allow the current trade to finish then close it then wait for the next specified trading times?

Is it possible to enter a trade at the price when the 2 moving averages actually cross and not when the candle closes etc - because whats the point of choosing X> (crosses above) when you could end up entering a trade nowhere near where you intended.
If you can enter a trade at a specific RSI value for example why can't this happen with the MA's ?

Hi,

I broke those blocks but it still closes trades if the RSI conditions are TRUE not with the MA (saying that it does ok in the backtest).
Is it possible to state with the "if position is runnning block" to change the Group # (empty=default) to the ID of the BUY block eg 2
Then only that section will be excuted?
I changed the filter by type to BUYS.

Thanks guys.
I put the "No position is running" block at the start - this is MQL5, I can't see a "No trades running" block. With the " No position is running" block it just starts a trade and thats it for the whole backtest in MT5.

I've put the "If position is runing" block after the BUY. It still closes trades with RSI conditions.
I think it needs to be told that if we're in the middle of a BUY (RSI x>60) and the RSI crosses below the 40 THEN DO nothing.

This is what should happen:

(Enter the trade with the RSI then exit with the moving average).
When the RSI crosses above 60 we BUY and then if the MA5 crosses below MA27 we close position.
When the RSI crosses below 40 we SELL and then if the MA5 crosses above MA27 we close position.

The problem is that if the RSI crosses above 60 (triggers a BUY) then flickers across 40 it then SELLS and vice versa.

Is it possible with fxDreema to disable the SELL conditions if the BUY is in progress?

Hi,
After dragging over a BUY or SELL block I've been setting the fixed lot size to 0.1 but when imported into MT5 and back tested it keeps changing (I've seen lot sizes from 0.1 - 26.0).
Anyone had any similar problems?

I'm still trying to get a moving average cross over working properly. I would like not to use SL or TP but closed positions when they cross.

Hi,
I'm new to fxDreema, decided to give it a try with all the good feedback I've read.
I thought I'd start off with a simple MA crossover.
In MT5 it looks as though its buying and selling at the right times but it keeps buying and selling like crazy. This is the best I can get. I've spent all day trying lots of different blocks to stop it, but then it doesn't buy or sell.
At the moment I've just got 3 blocks. The condition - (MA 4 > MA 10) which leads to the BUY and SELL blocks with no stop losses attributed - I'm trying to get it to close positions when they cross as you probably know.

Could somebody shed some light, I can't be far away.

Very frustrating. I've got some good trading ideas but I'm not sure if I can get into the fxDreema way of logic.
