Under the wrench key is it necessary to enter the name of the index that appears on the MT4 tab that I am trading e.g. DE30. Which appears on the tab as .DE30.r. Would I then enter it under the wrench as .DE30.r = 1. Thank you

@l-andorrà Hi. Yes quite correct on your second sentence. On the one condition (in a rising market) the pips will be (200) +20, whereas in a declining market the pips will be-(200) -20. I will remove the "each trade block" Conditions 2 and 3 will not happen at the same time. They are dependant on whether the market is going up or down. The other questions are: Would it be set up on the tick option, and if so, how will I control that it only works on the 15-minute chart?Thanks

@l-andorrà Hi. The 200 is the number of points that the current candle (high) will differ from the previous candle (high). On DE30 that will be 20 points e.g. 12560 versus 12580. In terms of the above, are you saying that blocks 5 and 6 must not be linked to the blocks 1 - 4?, and is it required that block 5 be there at all? Regards

I agree with you wholeheartedly, however, I have given all the specs and just need some guidelines on how to start it, not write the entire EA. My apologies if you find it unkind.

Just testing a theory ATM. Looking at ALSI futures

The strategy as follows:
1.Runs on a 15m chart
2. Only takes long positions
3. Sells after 30pips profit
4. Works on candle highs/closes
5. Strategy :- Candle high (0)>=high (1)+20pips in an upswing, and in a downswing - close (0) <=high(1)-20.
6. Must be able to take multiple trades

I want to build an EA that operates off a 15m chart that only buys, and sells after a certain amount of pips are gained. There must be able to have multiple trades. I am unsure how to start it off e.g. on the charts tab, or ticks tab and what the first block would be. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance

I have created a small test EA on the free plan and have clicked the .ex4 icon to download it. It then downloads an Adobe file with a ex4 extension. Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks in advance
