    • Maximizing Profits

Assuming you've created one or more profitable EAs here, how does this scenario stack up?

      1. Put a few tested instances of your EAs on one of your accounts to start reaping the rewards.
      2. Look for more compatible currencies and test them.
      3. Test new instances with 0.01 lots on the live account because Demo account data is not fully compatible. Most of my tests are profitable anyway.
      4. Increase lot size on winners and remove less profitable ones.
      5. Eventually fill the account with profitable EAs and a constant flow of new ones.
      6. A mix of overlapping EAs makes up for periods with no trades.
      7. Expect a few margin calls due to fxDreema aggressive risk management of 0.01 lots.
      8. Adjust for maximum capital utilization.
      9. Maximize profits!

I would much appreciate ideas and opinions on this approach.

      Thanks!

      Richard

Which money management scheme would be best for running 10 EAs together on the same account?

    • Blocks within blocks

It would be very cool to be able to build custom blocks out of other blocks.

Collect a few or many blocks together and wrap them up, specifying where the inputs and outputs go and hide everything within a nice small, tidy custom block.

Would make building complex projects cleaner and easier.

Not custom mql code, just collections of blocks, connected and hidden inside a new block. So you could make your own version of Buy now or whatever, without a big sprawling mess on the screen. And you could have a collection of custom blocks, tested and ready to build new projects -- your way.

      @moreirajbn Thanks for your response.

That was my first thought too. Seems kind of simplistic. Good enough, I guess.

      Thanks.

Would appreciate some ideas on good ways to decide when to auto-terminate when EA starts losing.

      Thanks!

    • RE: adaptive moving average

Looks like MT4 doesn't come with an adaptive moving average.

Here's one that might work for you ...

Haven't tried it myself. Good luck.

The Buy and Sell blocks allow you to specify the Take Profit level by a number of different means. Compute your target and put it in. Those blocks accept variables.

    • Tracking EAs on Demo. How to separate results?

Why is MT so terrible at tracking EA results?

Tracking several EAs running on Demo, trading the same pair is a pain.

Even FXBlue makes it hard. Separating EA Magic Numbers is a mess.

      What do people use?

      Thanks

MT5 is much better and faster. And fxDreema lets you test on MT5 and switch to MT4 fairly easily.

Thanks. I tried that, but will try again.

I've been searching the whole system for the file without luck. No new files on the system after running it. No error messages. 😞

      Thanks.

      Thanks for your help.

Sadly, doesn't work on MT5. No errors. Quietly does nothing after log says the EA is running.
      😞
Doesn't work in a script either.

What must I do in my projects to allow many EAs to be tested together in Demo without conflict? Even EAs trading the same symbol.

    • RE: Good platform for backtest?

      MT5

Full ticks automatically loaded. Uses all your processor's cores and more ... way more.

If you're in a hurry and don't mind paying, MT5 will backtest very fast.
