Clarity on percentile trailing stop
-
I want to use% of profit as the trailing stop, the block is already available on fxdreema, I just want to be sure what I'm doing is correct, if i set the trailing stop loss to be 30% of profit, does that mean after reaching the highest high or lowest low from open price, and it reverts 30% of total profit then the block is activated leaving 70% profit or will it revert 70% before the block is activated leaving 30% of profit..

Honestly I'm not completely sure but I would say it will not revert. That would be a true trailing stop. I haven't checked it, though.

I appreciate your reply, If you have checked do you mind updating me because i still dont know how it is calculated.

Can yoppu please share some screenshots showing your results?

I'm not sure on the result you are talking about but when I add it to the EA and run it through the mq5 strategy tester, I find irregularities in the profits, reviewing the trades I concluded that the cause could either be that the trailing stop is 70% of profits or the trailing step is too small in which case since the profit of the trade is too small, any little retracement will close the trade.
Hope you understand what I'm thinking. That's why I want to be sure on how the percentile trailing stop works. -
