Local version - internet required - request :)
-
I know you've been having some problems with your MySQL server recently. However one thing has occurred to me. Personally I prefer to use the local version as I thought it would insulate me a little from internet problems. But it seems it doesn't as the login authentication seems to require an active connection. Getting logged in has been quite frustrating over the last day or so. It also highlights the fact that I can't use fxDreema on a laptop whilst on an aeroplane, for example.
I'd like to make a suggestion which I hope you'll view as supportive; I do like fxDreema a great deal.
Could we please have an local version which will allow us to log in when not internet connected? Maybe you could allow a number - a big-ish number, since I might be on holiday somewhere and wanting to work! - of non-internet connected logins before one was mandatory.
Many thanks!

Unfortunately I don't want to deal with serial numbers or licenses, but I have some idea that I can test and if it is working as I expect, I can maybe make it almost offline.
Meanwhile I know another EA builders that can work 100% offline - Forex Generator, Molanis, VTS, EA tree, NoProgra... and there are even more
-
Yes. I looked at all the EA builders you've mentioned, but they didn't compete with yours! That's why I chose it! What I didn't appreciate was the need for an internet connection for the local version.
This isn't too much of a problem really, but would be most frustrating when wanting to work away from the office.
I'm going to keep using fxDreema as I like it the best. It does what I want, and your support for it is excellent. So I look forward to eventually seeing what you do with making it "almost offline"!
Thanks again.

Hello!

I was very interested to see the following in the version history for the local version, which update I only downloaded today:
__Build 082, 22.05.2014
- When logging in, if connection to the server fails in 5 seconds, you still can log in. Previous cached data is used for that.

Does this now mean that I can work with fxDreema when I'm not connected to the internet? It would be great if I could! I could work away from the office - wow!!
Thanks again.
James.

I live in the poorest country in Europe and we have internet everywhere. Internet from Wi-fi around, Internet from mobile phones, Internet from those usb gadgets that also use SIM cards like mobile phones. To login in fxDreema requires maybe 3-4 kb of data and then it works totally offline until it's closed. I don't really understand how can someone can be somewhere without tiny tiny tiny bit of internet and work with programs (MetaTrader) that normally need internet connection to run

-
You live in the poorest for internet - except for rural Scotland! There are many zones around where I live where I can't get any sort of signal!

When I'm "off grid" I'm even using my email off-line - Gmail has the ability to do so. So using fxDreema and MetaTrader in off-line mode (MetaTrader works fine for testing purposes off-line) would useful to me, and probably others. You do have a global audience for your product.
On top of that, in aeroplane mode, my laptop is permanently off line - the air steward insists!
Perhaps, as I mentioned before, the local version might be made to allow a limited (not too limited!) number of logins off-line before demanding an on-line one. Just a friendly wee suggestion!

But, hey ho! Its whatever you decide! FxDreema is still a terrific product, and I'm not changing to anything inferior!

Best regards,
James.

We are al least small country with almost empty villages and people are packed in and around towns, now I feel better because of that :)))
You don't know how much I don't like this local version, because it creates many different problems - the program I use to create it has bugs, the fact that people are using offline database means that I can't update those files easily when I do some upgrades, also when someone is asking me for help I can't see his project (which is why people wants to use it anyway). And I like web apps, not desktop. But I started it back then, now what can I do
Maybe most of the questions now come from people using that local version
Yes, it can be used offline, test that. Wait for 5 seconds and it will log in. But don't change the clock, if you go back in time the information will be cleared, if you go ahead - you will miss some days. But if you have problems like this - log in normally once and they will be gone.
