Am I doing something wrong?

Hi there,

I have a simple ea that buys when 2 bars of the same color have occurred and and sells the open position when the opposite happens (and opens the opposite position as well ) . Nothing fancy. But for some reason the buys are all a few pips higher then where I want to buy. The sells or on the correct spot. Is this normal? If it is the spread, why is it only happening with the buys?

As you see in the image. The sells are nice on the opens op the next candles whilst the buys are hovering somewhere above.

blocks seems be ok, and the situation what you are asking is spread as you mentioned

there are 2 prices, ask price and bid price ... ask > bid and its difference is spread
price on the chart is Bid (when you click properties on chart you can display also ask price), but candles are constructed from bid price
when you open buy trade, you open it on Ask price
when you open sell trade, you open it on Bid price
buy trade is closed on Bid price
sell trade is closed on Ask price

and that is reason, why the lower TF are you trading the lower spread is for you important (because you expect smaller profit)
