If You had multiple trades open but you want to close them out one of a time during certain time or event. How would you do that?

I have "check trade count"(Block)(if trade count is less than 1), and the "AND"(block) follow with a condition(block) (if ema 1 close is above ema 1 open) then BUY (block)

when this runs, the EA keeps buying, if though the trade count is "Greater than 1". is there something i'm wrong?

I'm to select the variable in the block to use but every time I right click the fields and do so, it still tells me to select a variable. Am I doing something wrong?
