By default it should work the same way + by default it is limited to 1 arrow per bar. There are 2 options at the top that controls how the arrows are created/updated. So they can be created on every run, once per bar, once per bar and then update the recent arrow, single line and then update it.

In the beginning I created "Formula" block, few months later I added Constants and Variables. All these are global variables, so they are accessible everywhere in the EA. Only I don't recommend to modify Constants, they are designed to be constants.
So, when you define variables in Variables, or you create Formula block, some global variables will be added to the final project. I prefer Variables, not Formula block. And for some basic calculations with those Variables click on this "Variables" thing: http://prntscr.com/42j6wo

Yes, use the backtester to see what is going on! That's why they created it.

And in any case, to check if your custom indicator works as expected, check it with "Indicators tester" first. This block should be connected under "on Tick" with some "Pass" block. And it shows the values out of one of the buffers of the selected custom indicator. If it shows normal values (depending on the indicator), it can be used and you will know that it works fine. This is because there are some custom indicators that have buffers, but they have the same value all the time, so the EA can't really use them.
