    • RE: Why is this trade closing here?

      This one is weird.

I actually ended up disabling ALL of the closing blocks for the sell and it still closed in the same spot.

I checked my close conditions for BUY and all of those are filtered for BUY.

Also, I understand that during a candle conditions could be met and then they don't show anymore by the end of the candle, but the CCI doesn't come anywhere near the closing conditions in this example. Is there any visual mode where I can see the indicators running during the backtest?

Also, where to I put the "delay" block? What do I connect it to?

    • RE: Why is this trade closing here?

I have different conditions running to close, depending on which arises first.

In other words, if it crosses below 100, close. If it keeps going, then cross below 150, etc.

Should I use OR between these groups of conditions?

    • RE: Why is this trade closing here?

This is the CCI 40 SMA EMA 21.exe

Why is this SHORT closing here? I can't see any conditions that would make it close here?

It should be closing after the CCI goes down further.

By the way, I did have all the cross conditions set up using the X< or X> blocks but I did them the long way to test if there was some bug there but of course the mysterious close is still happening.

      Any ideas?

    • RE: IF TRADE OR NO IF TRADE?

When creating an EA to close out a trade, is it necessary to use "If Trade"?

Or can I just put the appropriate filter on the "Close Trade" block to close the trade or trades on the pair?

    • RE: NAMING INPUTS

Is there anyway to name the inputs?

So in metatrader for user input we will see a name/description rather than "inp5"?

Found it...I had a condition that was to close when cci => -185...SHOULD BE CCI =<-185.

      never mind but thanks anyway.

    • RE: close out on entry?

This one is driving me somewhat crazy.

I have reviewed and reviewed by closing EA (CLOSE SELL CCI 2) and for the life of me I cannot figure out why it was closing where it did. The blue line is where I entered the trade manually and then it closed on next tick. I deleted any other systems running on this pair to make sure it wasn't another system but once I deleted CLOSE SELL CCI 2, then the problem stopped but I don't see what it is about that system that is causing the early close.

The CCI was no where near -100, -150, or -185, which are my marks for closing in CLOSE SELL CCI 2.

      Any ideas?

    • RE: ONCE PER BAR - MAXIMUM TIMES TO PASS

      MAXIMUM TIMES TO PASS...

Does this mean if we enter 2, it will trade 2 times per bar?

Or does it mean 1 time per 2 bars?

    • RE: ELSE MIRROR...TRUE "MIRRORING"

So if "else" yellow line is like a mirror or opposite the the previous condition it's connected to, does it take into account oscillators?

For example if a CLOSE OF BUY condition is CCI X> 100, then will "else" mean CCI X< -100 (will it assume the negative integer? Or will it just calculate X< 100 RATHER THANT -100?)

So does the project description delete when closing FXDREEMA?

If not, where did it go?

    • RE: MAGIC NUMBERS

So let me make sure I understand the procedure.

For example I might use check trade count and enter a group number.

For my closing conditions, I just make sure the group number in the close matches the check trade count?

    • RE: MAGIC NUMBERS

Do you have any articles on how to utilize magic numbers?

For example, eventually I want to build a system that has a few different sets of condition to open a trade and each set has its own set of conditions to close so that not ALL trades will close, just the ones that pertain to to particular system.

    • RE: FXCM or other U.S. SEC regulated brokers

Thanks, but man, I am just starting a demo account with FXCM for 2000 and I haven't checked the requirements for available margin, but based on the stop-out due to FIFO rules, it seems like I have to have an outrageous margin available just to stay in a trade.

How on earth can one make any money here if you can only use such a small portion of your acccount?

      Or am I missing something?

Are there other account settings they offer different than the default settings for a 2k account?

Thanks for you answer by the way, and yes, the EA is closing out just fine for me as well.

Its' just that my FXChoice account is way more profitable because those trades close with a profit because it can use more margin to play with.

    • RE: BLOCK TITLE WISHLIST

I don't know if you've check out another builder called molanis.

FXDreema is way more comprehensive and easier to use but molanis does have that feature.

Anyway, yeah, there would have to be a decision made on just how much info to show.
