    • RE: how to multiply ATR value and set as stop

      hey fxdreema,

sorry to bug you again (lol I bet I'm annoying 😆 ) but I was wondering how I could use the formula block to set up a stop-loss and take-profit.

what I want is for "average true range" x "multiplier" to be set as a stop-loss or take profit and I've tried many times to do it in different ways it doesn't work.

      edit:

once again bare in mind I'm just learning to use the software so please don't think I'm annoying you or anything 😄

    • RE: trailing stop is bugged I think

__Aaaaa you want SL to remain untouched. Well, it's not a bug, it's how I decided to be. I don't remember why I decided that. Normally if you say to the program to set SL to 0, it will clear it. But maybe it's better for the trailing stop to not touch it. I don't know, there is a chance for someone else to ask "Why when I set trailing stop to 0 it does not clear it?"[/quote:36wdmpm0]

edit: ok I misunderstood so is it possible to set trailing stop to null value or do I have to remove it??? Can you deactivate it in the optimiser?

no for some reason my one sets the stop to 0 here is the project:

      https://fxdreema.com/shared/jpziVfotb

I tested it again still bugged I'm starting to think my MT5 might be bugged or something lol.

      EDIT:

I can give you screenshots if you need them.

      thank for your help btw.

    • RE: trailing stop is bugged I think

I'm trying to set a trailing stop on my project and when I set it to 0 to test what would happen without it and it keeps setting the stop at 0. Is this meant to happen or is it bug??? How do I create a null value for the trailing stop???

    • RE: noob question

I'm still stuck with this I need to know how to set up one stop-loss for a stop-loss and one for a take-profit both using trailing stops. If I use two trailing stops both of them conflict with the stop-loss could you give me an example?

      edit:

basically I want a trailing stop for the stop-loss and one trailing stop for the take profit if you understand what I'm saying. How owuld I set this up??

    • RE: Basic project not working

      Hi,

I'm a recent subscriber (only 1 day) and since than I have created numerous projects the problem is that sometimes the projects aren't placing trades or closing when they should be. I don't know if this is an MT5 bug or something.

      for example:
      https://fxdreema.com/shared/veeCdVQ2d

this project is quite simple but doesn't play trades when it should and doesn't close when it should. on the year long backtest it should have placed several trades but didn't place any despite numerous optimization parameters.

I am backtesting on one year open calculations only and the project stops placing trades after january I dno whats wrong tbh but its very annoying. Other projects also don't work properly.

Sorry to annoy you but i'm wondering if this is something wrong with my project or possibly a bug in fxdreema???

    • RE: Confused by takeprofit module

Basically I am experimenting with the take profit module and its really confusing me (Yes I'm quite stupid lol).

Basically on my optimizer it says:

      tStopPips
      tStopPercentTP
      tStopPercentProfit
      TrailingStartMode

I assume the "tStopPips" is the trailing stop-loss from the peak. I don't understand what the "tStopPercentTP" and "tStopPercentProfit" is they seem like the same thing which is the percent of profit you take????

Not sure to be honest very confused sorry for sounding stupid.

I really love this program just this one thing which is confusing me alot.

I get these warnings when I try and compile my program. The program is a simple ma crosses bollinger program with stop-losses and take profits. It also checks if the position is open. Can anyone help me with this?
