  • Price rising/falling X pips without retracting Y pips

    Hello there,
I am trying to build an EA that tracks how a price reached a specific level. For example, if current price is 1.1300, and a previous price level was 1.1000, I want to see if this rise in price happened without it ever retracting 50 pips. In other words, price moved upwards for 300 pips without ever falling for more than 50 pips. If it's possible, I would like to be able to do this without taking into account time frames or how long did it take for the price to complete the 300 pips movement.
    Thanks

  • RE: indicator rise (candles to rise)

I did some testing and I found out that this (1) works the same as this (2). Similarly, by including one more candle in the calculations we get this (3) being the same with this (4), and so on. Doesn't this mean that in order to calculate rise for two candles (the current one and the previous) requires "1" as an input in "candles to rise" and not "2" as stated in the explanation?
    Thanks again, A.S

  • RE: Indicator moves within limits block

Hello again and thanks for replying.
Backtesting covered a full year, so there shouldn't be any problems regarding starting/ending dates. I tested the example I posted above once more and I encountered the same problem again (pic 1). Also I checked a few other years and I found some more cases (pic 2,3). It is strange that we have different results, I wonder why.

  • indicator rise (candles to rise)

    Hello,
I built an EA containing the "Indicator rise" block. In the "candles to rise" option, I used "1" as value, while 2 is supposed to be the minimum value for that input. My question is what happens when I do this, why do I get results and not an error?

  • Indicator moves within limits block

    Hello there,
I have been testing the block ''Indicator moves within limits" and I have found several inconsistencies. Backtesting this rough example, although in most occasions the EA seems to work fine, there are some cases in which although the condition is fulfilled, no order is being created (screenshot example). 0_1552582356696_examplefx.png
I am trying to explain the problem as clear as possible, so feel free to ask for any clarifications regarding the example I posted above.
Do I understand/use this block wrong?
Thanks in advance for your time,
    A.S.
