@sirboyce Oh yes, I accidentally reversed 80 with 20, however the solution to your question is the trailing step = 10

RE: Basic Trailing Stop Questionposted in Questions & Answers
@sirboyce said in Basic Trailing Stop Question:
Apologies in advance for what must be a very basic question around setting up an SL.
What I am trying to do is set up a condition where when (either buy or sell trade) hits 100 pips in profit, a trailing SL will be activated 20 pips behind (i.e. current price is at 100 pips in profit, SL is placed at 80 pips in profit).
From the above, for every 10 pips the price continues to move into profit, the SL moves 10 pips. So at 110 pips in profit, the SL is at 90, at 120 in profit, SL is 100 etc.
Is this possible, and if so, could you please share a screenshot of the block with the correct settings?
Finally, would the following be the correct way and place to put the trailing SL in the EA?

Many thanks in anticipation of your kind assistance!
This way:

Setting trailing step = 10 is what you need

@drewliedadeuce put the "trailing stop" block separately, otherwise it will remain affected by other blocks. E.G. alone below a "pass" block, or "if trade" => trailing stop

@sirboyce said in Question for experienced backtesters:
@ambrogio Thanks. I have seen software like this doing my own searches. I was hoping for a slightly more informative response rather than a simple link to a product I have already seen advertised and do not - with no further information or reccomendation - trust at this point (certainly not enough to pay for it).
The link I gave you is for tickstory.com, if you had visited the site you would have seen that there is a free version with some limitations, but enough to produce and understand how to perform the 99.9% quality backtest
After that you can decide whether or not to pay tickstory full version, or TDS2 -

@fabiobioware yes, the conditions you put in are not correct, follow my example above
-
RE: Condiction candle open with rsi bellow 70posted in Questions & Answers
@fabiobioware I think not because the condition happens in the candle ID1 that has just closed, so we are at the opening of the new one. Do a visual backtest and you can see.

@randal40 please, share your simple project as an example, so we can try to solve your problem. Currently your question is generic and therefore difficult to understand

RE: Hull Moving Averageposted in Questions & Answers
@julianrbach We have already bypassed the problem, when buffer 1 appears = sell, then when buffer 1 disappears is the same as buffer 0 appears
My example open both sell and buy orders.
Anyway there are several version of the Hull indicator, some of them with arrows. You can search on google
