    • RE: Take Profit by indicator

      @l-andorrà

      Nevermind the other indicator.
      Just like i said, was only visual for me to backtest different settings.

      Yes sure i feel that, i'm very new to FX dream but have learned lots by you guys so far.
      Thank you a lot.

      Currently using the default stochastic oscillator from the MT5.
      Also build EA only using the default stochastic by itself, working in real time as well so far for entry signals.
      But not on Take Profit.
      Good the tip by other user, that need to be added by "If trade" tree,
      because some indicators might work directly with TP and some not.

      @Morpheus_0

      Hi, thank you for your idea.

      So you mean extra condition block, right?
      Tested the Take Profit function before directly from Buy/ Sell for other indicators like Bollinger Bands as well, did work.

      What i dont get is why is cant be closed directly by value based indicators like Parabolic.

    • Take Profit by Parabolic Sar directly from Buy/Sell Block

      Hi guys,

      currently testing TPs directly from Buy/Sell section.
      When selecting Parabolic Sar i only can select the Value of min. and max. but not if price must be above or below the indicator.
      Somebody please know how to solve this?
      Thx

      so the 2. condition would be enough right?
      ok thank you.

      @jstap

      Hi just thought about it, wouldn't it be enough to just use the "crossing back in" condition, because should be above 70 or below 30 before anyway.

      Buy -> Main line x< 30 Level, crosses above 30 level
      Sell -> Main line x> 70 Level, crosses below 70 level

      @l-andorrà

      i backtestet the previous stochastic in replay it gave an arrow right when stochastic main line crossed the 30/70 level back in. Might be different in real time, you might be correct about that.

      But what i still dont get, by leaving the once per bar, the bot would potentially fire multiple trades open even if older onces still running.

      My idea was to close it for current trade by the stochastic crossing over.
      From backtesting the idea of mean reversion i've found that market sometimes goes back to middle bollinger bands and then returns and sometimes breaks through and would still run further than opposite outer bollinger band.
      Therefore because like you said, every trades is different and you dont know how far your trade idea would be valid to play out if correct, i've found to protect complete reversal back to enter the stochastic crossing would help to close when market doesnt want to go further than middle bollinger bands.

      Ok got it, but asking because you said to use once per bar to close as well.

      @Jnmejias

      Hi, looks good so far,

      1 question, why do you use once per bar twice, 1 before first trigger and 1 to enter a trade.
      Wouldn't 1 be enough 1 block pre the actual Buy in condition block, because of the flag it only enters if both are matching.

      Hi,

      do i need flag blocks as well? Check flag, set flag.
      Like in the version of @Jnmejias.

      This looks very good so far.

    • Range Bound indicators like RSI return after crossing

      Hi,

      currently testing different approaches for RSI.

      I would like it to be above or below 30/70 like normal but additional condition trigger would be that it moves back in.

      Buy-> RSI is below 30 but crosses back above
      Sell -> RSI is above 70 but crosses back below

      Only found the option in conditions to cross above/ below but not to move back in.

      Condition might be congruent to different Range Bound Indicators like Stochastics, Money Flow ....

      @l-andorrà

      Ok, but if i don't use once per bar entirely it would open new trade every new bar if entry is triggered right?

      What i've found from testing it doesnt need to be above/below 80/20 level for the crossover to happen, but unfortunately still can only select the period and mode for the trigger.
      Still missing the x>, x> like in conditions block.

      Ok, but "block" you mean just 1 beige round condition, like on the picture "Stochastic main line crosses" or do you mean an entire row/ tree?
      So to set flag for each?

      Unfortunately same thing doesnt seam to apply to use cross over of stochastic as Take Profit.

      Did post in another thread.
      I only found a way to make the main line the signal line in conditions, but then not with certain value level conditions or not for take profit only.

      @l-andorrà

      Yes, stochastic is one of the least main leading indicators with the least divergence or lagging i've found.
      Works great in confluence with Bollinger Bands.

      The stochastic with arrows in the picture is just one i use currently for backtesting when the crossing appears.
      But

      I didn't found a way to close/ Take Profit by crossing of the indicator just from the crossing in opposite direction.

      For me seems to be good, because selected custom price level indicator -> in chart.

      From backtesting other methods like Trailing Stop would cancel trade sometimes to early or dont respect to give market enough space.

      Also testet with opposite Bollinger Bands Line but sometimes market only reaches middle bands, sometimes it remains pushing until a crossover of stochastic would appear.
      For me is easiest way to cancel trade if it doesnt continues or to give it enough room until momentum shifts.

      @jstap

      Ok i see. Thanks.

      Yes but any problem can be solved. Found from backtesting that only depends on momentum shift. That steam dimnishes. What i couldn't find in FXdreema is to make it do is that Stochastic Lines really need to cross above/ below 80/20 Level. You know to make it only enter when probability isn higher because it returns back.

      Ok got it, so it can differ between buy and sell conditions.
      So you mean kinda like this?

      https://fxdreema.com/shared/k83CLl5ge

      Ok, i understand that, but how can this help prevent false signals when market is trending/ Band walking?
      You know, like the band trigger is still active.

    • Bollinger Bands strong Momentum

      Hi guys, currently testing EA with Bollinger Bands reversal, in sideways market or when axis of high and low point stays horizontal and flat or even when market makes smooth price action with Pullbacks working great with additional stochastic and MACD, but found when market keeps "Band walking" and has strong momentum on one side this would gives false signals until Momentum shifts.

      What i've found from backtesting that even increasing the smoothing of the Stochastic or MACD is still would entry to early.

      Is Somebody working with Channel System like Bollinger Bands as well and has?

      I've also tested Bollinger Bands with additonal Bollinger Bands for higher Timeframe like 50, 100, or 200 MA as well, to filter signals when both 20 Bollinger Bands 2. deviation and the one from higher Timeframe crosses.

      This still keeps horzontial and flat High Lows still profitable but unfortunately still produces some false signals when market has much momentum and keeps pushing into the bands.

      Found also that using something like ADX to indicate momentum wouldnt work out because of the lagging of ADX.
