I know why. Right now I'm switching the hosting of the website and guess what - I forgot to copy the indicator's data 🙂

    • RE: Moving to another VPS

The current VPS expires today, so I switched the IP address to the server I prepared in Vultr. For those who now see fxdreema.com from Vultr, it will be slower, because it connects to the database in the old VPS. I will switch to local database after 1-2 hours, when I expect most people to see the website from the new VPS.

@L333z, there is NodeJS on the back end and NodeJS also works on 1 core, so technically I don't need more than that. But it's not about the numbers, obviously. At the moment I have few VPS - the old one, InterServer, Vultr and A2hosting - and I wanted to try 1$1 and Contabo, but I could not register properly. In every place there is at least 1 bottleneck:

      • Current VPS - good CPU, normal Disk, but only 2 GB RAM, sometimes this is not enough
      • InterServer - good CPU, more RAM, but very slow Disk
      • Vultr - even more RAM (4GB), awesome Disk, but slow CPU
      • A2hosting - enough RAM (4GB), even better Disk (read speed 1GB/s), but the CPU is not that amazing for the price

I feel that the only difference between cheap shared hosting and VPS hosting is that I have Remote Desktop. Technically VPS is also shared hosting. So I guess I need a Dedicated server, but where? With those strange VPS problems, what could I expect from Dedicated servers? 🙂

@hemantpremi This is not the right topic for this. I personally never traded automatically, I only have > 10 margin calls from manual trading. I don't ask the people here whether or not their EAs are profitable. My personal opinion is that Forex is just a casino where you can only lose your money 🙂

Unfortunately the CPU speed in Vultr appears to be very slow, at least for MetaTrader's compilers. But at least I think I will be able to switch VPS with almost no downtime.

@hemantpremi Because of money, money, money :))) https://fxdreema.com/purchase

I decided to try Vultr and take a look:

    • RE: Moving to another VPS

Thank you guys. Someone from InterServer gave me another VPS to test, but it is exactly the same situation. I think the website will work on this, but it doesn't look good.

AWS is strange, I don't know. I don't like too big companies in general, but I can try it 🙂
Contabo is suspicious because it's so cheap, but obviously there is no guarantee even if the price is average. Here is something interesting - https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/contabo-com-are-cheap-and-scam.548279/

    • RE: Time bomb back testing

Oh, I mean passed, that it works... but with generated data, so don't believe the results. And I think the block is very simple, it collects data for the certain seconds, then it dumps that data and starts collecting new data for the new period. This is something I should fix I guess, but in the same time from a long time ago I was thinking to hide those blocks in this category 🙂

I don't require a lot, the current system has only 2GB of RAM on Windows and the CPU is low most of the time. The HDD speed is important, because the database is stored on the disk and of course we don't want slow reads and writes. I mean, too slow, because we know what normal HDD drives are capable of. For example, here are few tests from my personal PC, from the current VPS and from the new VPS:

      Personal PC:
      0_1523439430647_61686eae-3a12-4d68-b6f6-e12cae79dd97-image.png

      Current VPS:
      0_1523439453205_bce05650-7780-4bbd-9cd1-68dc9603dbee-image.png

      New VPS:
      0_1523439467710_202524b2-8c67-4d48-bb19-34e9bf17de3b-image.png

The new VPS shows better numbers for 4KiB, but the numbers for Seq are so low that they don't look normal to me.

    • RE: Moving to another VPS

I wrote a support ticket with all details and screenshots and the answer I got was like this "I would suggest you to upgrade the server to a dedicated server for better performance."

The problem I have now on the new VPS - very slow Disk performance - happened once in the current VPS. At least the support guy is more responsive here and he helps when something goes wrong. But there are strange things here as well. For example, I never got licensed Windows and I see that "Activate Windows" message on the desktop all the time. Not that I care, if it works 🙂 One day I got a message telling me that they upgrade something and I need to set up a new server. It was 1-2 years ago that we did that, and I experienced many problems until the new VPS back then (which is the current one now) started working properly. I joked about that in the support ticket and he told me that he will leave me on the current system, but with a higher price. Excuse me, but I'm pretty sure that in technology normally the prices goes down with the time for the same parameters. That's why I decided to move somewhere else and I found InterServer. But I have bad start with them 🙂

AWS is probably good, but I don't understand them at all. There is a huge ocean of services and prices, I don't even know where to look at 🙂

I found that the HDD speed of the new VPS is too slow, so I have to connect with their support. I will switch after they fix this issue 🙂

Work on your projects. If for some reason something breaks, reload the page or go to History (upper right corner of the EA) and select older history point.

    • RE: Moving to another VPS

Everything will look exactly the same. I guess that at some point the website will be down and then it will show up. Right now the database is automatically copied to the new place. When I submit this post, it will be written on both databases. So I only have to turn off the old system, wait few seconds and turn on the new system. I think I will turn off the EA builder of the old system and only leave this forum, because of this topic.

The problem comes from the domains...

I tested how quickly one of my unused domains switches the IP addresses and it took I think less than hour. The thing is that our computers are using some cache, so they don't have to ask for the IP address of every domain all the time. That's why our computers will think that fxdreema.com leads to the old IP when it already links to the new... until they update their cache. But there is a command to clear the cache. It's similar to the way cookies work in browsers. Here is the command for everyone who wants to clear that cache, in case the EA builder is not reachable:

      ipconfig /flushdns

    • Moving to another VPS

In the next hours I will move the website to another VPS (more RAM, better price, very old company 🙂 ). I already prepared the new place, the database is also copied, but at some point I will have to switch the IP address for the domain. I don't know how long this will take, because domain changes are sometimes slow, but I hope it will happen fast.

When the price is X pips away from the open-price, this is the fact and it doesn't change until the price turns back 🙂 Try with "once per trade/order" after the pips away block.

I tried the block of course, with all Expiration settings, but I have no problems with it. I tried it in EURUSD. What Symbol do you use?

    • RE: Builder is not working

I get the same report for all blocks missing often lately. To be honest, I don't know why it happens and this is one of those bugs that are hard to investigate, because when it happens, you can't reproduce it. But it is also easy to fix, just go to History and select some older history point that works.

    • RE: Terminate other EAs

There is a function called ExpertRemove() to remove the current EA, but this function does not have any input arguments, so it works only for the current EA.

Technically it is possible to work with .dll files and in the past people did some extra stuff that way, but I don't like this method very much.

What I can suggest is to use those Terminal Variables (https://fxdreema.com/help/working-with/terminal-variables) to communicate between EAs. One EA can check for certain variable to be let's say 1, and then to run it's own "Terminate" block.
