    • Don't understand why my EA takes only short trades and not long

      My conditions are exactly the same, (just moving averages) but opposite. Any answers on this?

      If I single out each side and make an EA of it, I still get only short trades. If I do this with just conditions for buy trades, I get no trades whatsoever.

      Anybody got any feedback on this?

    • If I wanted to close all trades for 1 particular currency

      Is it possible to program this using a constant in the condition tab? I understand no, however, something tells me I may be missing something. @roar. Is it possible, not knowing any script? Thanks everyone.
      My whole motivation was to close out multiple trades I see becoming losers without closing them indidually (not so easy). I wanted to input a currency pair into a field before moving the EA onto my screen. I figured a constant would allow me to do this, but given the nature of commands, I don't see that that can be inputted or specified. Please, any advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks

    • Regarding "Current Time Frame"...general questions about....

      When selecting the current time frame on conditions, what time frame is actually being executed on the condition? What is the current time frame? M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, MN? Is there any way to tell? Is it locked into the time frame that your MT4 or MT5 screen shows? What if you go in between time frames?

      Can someone explain to me since I am trying to compare the execution of the conditions across other currencies and I am not able to make a call that is consistent. Knowing this can help me gauge entry optimization. Please advise if you would kindly respond.

      Thanks all!

      @roar Thanks for taking the time. I have no idea why my strategy tester isn't working then. I appreciate it. đŸ™‚

    • RE: How to get only the MACD histogram?

      @roar Thanks for your response, but take a look at this really simple thing here. It does not even compile to backtest. This is what I mean about candle comparison.
      I also assigned variables to each one of those MACD bars and I still cannot get a way to compare as a condition.
      Any advice?

      Thanks. I appreciate your help if you can.

    • RE: Could someone show me how to write this expression please?

      @ambrogio
      Is this code that can do this or can this be put into condition blocks?

      @ambrogio said in Could someone show me how to write this expression please?:

      MACD candle ID1 < MACD candle ID2

      @shovel52 DID THIS WORK IN THE SECOND CONDITION BOX? HOW TDID YOU SET UP YOUR IF STATEMENT IDENTIFIERS?

    • RE: How to get only the MACD histogram?

      @roar,
      Do you know of a way to isolate the value of one of the istogram bars with the next bar? I cannot seem to get to compare one bar to the next in order to set up my condition. Candle IDs have to be the same in order to utilize the = , >,< , etc. I don't know how to say this bar of the histogram candle 2 is > < histogram candle 1. Do you know how I can do that? Thanks

    • RE: Regarding the Indicator Rise and Indicator Fall

      Thanks @AlphaOmega, @roar, @l'andorra, but I was wondering how I can do this with an indicator, like a volume indicator or waddah attar. Thank you for supplying this picture with the candle settings, but it is not the candles that I wanted to use. I want to use the heights of the volumes in the indicators themselves (they look like candlesticks), but they are not the candles on the chart that I need. They are the candles in the volume indicator...or like say in the histogram....

      I am trying to isolate the values of the bars in that, not the candles.
      I do appreciate this though very much. If you have any suggestions, I surely appreciate it. Thank you

      I thought you could not set up conditions where the candles were different. I tried and it is not backtesting. Any suggestion?

    • RE: Store the current value of the RSI indicator into a variable

      josecortesllobat, is there a way to compare this to the value of candle 2? I ask because I understand that you cannot create a condition where the candle IDs are NOT the same, but that is exactly what I am trying to do, but cannot find a way....
      I tried using a variable and then comparing the variable to the indicator, and I tried using the variable to compare to a second variable, and it still does not back test....

      I was wondering if you could suggest...

      Thanks

    • Objects on the chart, comment ugly, and using this info

      Re: chart on object has no name or ID.what kind of object is it?how to select it?

      MY QUESTION IS...
      since I cannot compare indicators of different candles, and I decided to create a comment with the values of the same indicator of two different candles...I thought I might be able to compare values without specifying candle IDs (other than in a modify variables box)...
      How do I compare two different volumes on say a histogram like a volume histogram...for two different candles. I would like to compare candle 1 to candle 2 of the volume histogram...to set a buy or sell signal....
      Would some one kindly respond? thanks

      @https://fxdreema.com/forum/user/trader-philipps

      Should a green set and check flags option be used to verify if this condition is true in order to proceed? These various signals options don't really cofirm that it is OK to proceed to the next flow.
